Introduction
The on/off switch goes bad; it starts by failing intermittently; sometimes you can make it work by slightly pressing it but that gets increasingly annoying. And it may stop working fully.

If the switch still works and isn't failing yet, simply try cleaning it.
-
Pry off the grey plastic on-off button to expose the head of the on/off switch.
-
Apply some electrical contact cleaner (CorrosionX or MG Chemicals Super Contact Cleaner or something similar) or, less ideally, 91% or better isopropyl alcohol to the switch.

                  -
Work the switch a bit by turning it on and off a lot (still unplugged) and see if that doesn't fix the problem.

                  -
If cleaning the switch doesn't restore it to full function. You'll have to disassemble the toaster oven and replace the switch (SW 15 on the circuit board).
