This guide will instruct you on how to replace the disk drive for the HP Pavilion dv7-3065dx. This is located on the side of the computer and is a quick fix!

    • Remove the Battery as a safety precaution

    • There is a latch identified in the picture. By sliding this latch to the left, the battery is released from a lock position.

    • Use a Philips screwdriver to unscrew one screw holding the disk drive to the laptop.

    • In the photo there is a covering missing from another piece of the laptop but this will not impact the disk drive.

    • Slide (pull) the disk drive out from the laptop and place it off to the side.

    • The disk drive is the silver container as seen in the photo.
