Introduction

This guide will show you how to replace the screen on a Lenovo ThinkPad Edge E431 laptop.

    • Remove the 2mm Phillips #00 screw from the battery cover.

    • Lift the battery cover out of its slot.

    Please use a #1 Phillips driver and not a #00.

    • Disconnect the battery cable.

    • Use the pointed end of a spudger to remove the two screw covers from the bottom corners of the display.

    Also, if this is the E430, remove the two rubber bumpers at each upper corners to reveal two more M2 screws.

    • Remove the two 2mm Phillips #00 screws found at the bottom corners of the display.

    Please use a #1 Phillips driver and not a #00.

    • Separate the front bezel from the display using the plastic opening tool.

    • Remove the four 2mm Phillips #00 screws from the screen.

    Please use a #1 Phillips driver and not a #00.

    • Lay the screen flat on top of the keyboard.

    • Peel up the adhesive tape to unlatch the metal retaining bracket on the display cable.
