This is a how-to guide on replacing the front and back case of a Sony Cyber-Shot DSC W690. This case may need to changed or replaced if damage has occurred to the outside of the camera, to access internal units, or to upgrade the external cosmetics. This is a simple procedure.

    • Locate the battery door

    • Locate and open battery lock by pushing the lid towards the inside and lifting

    • Remove the battery

    • Remove the wrist strap off of the camera

    • With the screwdriver, remove all six 3mm screws on the outside of the camera. To unscrew, insert screw driver into indentation of screw and twist in counterclockwise

    • Keep screws in a safe place

    • Carefully pry the case apart by pulling the front and back sides in opposite directions
