Hangul
Koreans may believe that Hangul is ideal. But it is quite defective in fact. Above all, long and short vowels are unsaid.
- Maybe not best
- No difference from long and short vowels.

Arae-a
ː Arae-a (아래아)
The Revised Romanization of Korean (RR) does little justice to old Korean language.
The Roman /v/ shall romanize the uniquely outlawed vowel /ㆍ/, namely 아래아 (arae-a). Accordingly, the hangul for hvi ("sun"), for example, may be put 희 (in italic), 희 (in bold face), 희 (underlined), 희 (stroked), or even 히 (stroked). The basical ㅎ should be self-evident.
